📢 Program Overview
On the occasion of World No Tobacco Day, the Indian Dental Association, Tamil Nadu State Branch has conducted comprehensive awareness programs across the state to educate the public about the severe health hazards of tobacco consumption, especially its impact on oral health.
Awareness activities included:
✅ Bike Rally (IDA Vellore Branch) to spread tobacco-free messages �
✅ Tobacco awareness talks in both English and Tamil �
✅ Distribution of awareness pamphlets highlighting tobacco-related diseases �
✅ Health education rallies with slogans and informative charts �

Tobacco use causes:
🦷 Oral cancer and gum disease
🫁 Lung cancer, heart disease, and breathing problems
😬 Tooth decay, bad breath, and tooth loss
👶 Harm to children through second-hand smoke and tobacco industry targeting
Tamil Nadu has banned the sale of Gutka and similar tobacco products �.
